Job Title: Full Time 5th Grade Teacher (Immediate Opening)

Position Overview:

Hosanna Christian School, a private Christian school located in Vancouver, Washington, is seeking a qualified and passionate Full-Time 5th Grade Teacher to join our staff. The 5th Grade Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivery engaging lessons, following the provided curriculum. They will foster a positive, Christ-centered learning environment. The preferred candidate will assess and support student academic growth. They will also be able to collaborate with staff and communicate effectively with parents. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

The 5th Grade Teacher will perform the following duties:

    • Implement engaging lessons with provided curriculum.
    • Plan out lessons for instruction in the core subjects: math, English, reading, history, science, spelling, and Bible.
    • Integrate Christian principles and values into daily instruction, nurturing spiritual growth and character development.
    • Incorporate a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage and inspire students. 
    • Classroom management and engagement:
    • Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe, respected, and encouraged to express themselves.
    • Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain discipline and focus during music and art lessons.
    • Create opportunities for student collaboration and group work, fostering a sense of community and teamwork.
    • Maintain open and effective communication with parents, providing updates on students’ progress.
    • Collaborate with other teachers and staff members.
    • Attend faculty meetings, and school events and actively contribute.

Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate (required)
  • Experience teaching at the elementary level preferred
  • Commitment to academic excellence and Christian education
  • Collaborate with staff and communicate effectively with parents.
