Hosanna offers a five day and three day Kindergarten education.
Both programs are all day.
THREE DAY PROGRAM
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
We focus on Phonics, Math, and Handwriting, always incorporating music, as well as Bible.
FIVE DAY PROGRAM
We focus on Phonics, Math, Handwriting, Creative Writing, Bible as well as Science, Social Studies and Art.
ABEKA Book Materials are used. This curriculum teaches sounds of letters, vowels, accomplishing the reading of one and two vowel words, poems, songs, and other activities. Sight words and vocabulary words are also learned.
Abeka curriculum is used. Recognition/writing number 1-100. Grouping, graphing, addition facts and subtraction facts through 10. Placement concepts (before, after, up, under…), more than, less than, and opposites. Counting by 1’s, 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s. Calendar time also lends learning to the days of the week, names of the month and more. Introduction to time and money is also discovered.
We begin learning about Creation and work our way through the Bible. We discover God’s word through bible stories, songs, poems, and memory verses. Bible is every day, and chapel is every Wednesday with all Hosanna Student Body.
D’Nelian style is taught. A variety of learning tools are incorporated including individual chalk boards, pencils, crayons, air writing and any other way that benefits the individual.
Science places an emphasis on discovering God’s hand in creation. Students learn about the human body, healthy habits, matter (liquids, solids, gases), construction, space, seasons, and animal habitats.
Kindergarten uses “Lucy Caulkins” to introduce creative writing. Drawing a picture, labeling, and writing one to two sentences is the goal.
Bob Jones Curriculum. Units focus on building community and culture awareness. Students discover elements of their families, school, nation and the world, incorporating Holiday’s, and Celebration events.
Our Art program teaches a variety of art concepts and techniques throughout the year.
