Job Title: Part-Time Music and Art Teacher – Early Learning and Elementary Programs

Position Overview:

Hosanna Christian School, a private Christian school located in Vancouver, Washington, is seeking a qualified and passionate Part-Time Music and Art Teacher to join our staff. The Music and Art Teacher will be responsible for providing engaging and enriching music and art instruction to students in the Early Learning and Elementary Programs. Duties and Responsibilities:

The Part-Time Music and Art Teacher will perform the following duties:

  1. Develop and implement music and art lessons:
    • Plan and deliver dynamic and age-appropriate music and art lessons for students in the Early Learning and Elementary Programs.
    • Integrate Christian principles and values into music and art instruction, nurturing spiritual growth and character development.
    • Incorporate a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage and inspire students’ creativity.
  1. Instruction and demonstration:
    • Provide instruction and guidance in vocal and instrumental music, as well as various art forms and techniques.
    • Foster a love for music and art by introducing students to a wide range of musical genres, artistic styles, and cultural expressions.
    • Encourage students to explore their creativity and develop their artistic skills through hands-on activities and projects.
  1. Classroom management and engagement:
    • Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe, respected, and encouraged to express themselves.
    • Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain discipline and focus during music and art lessons.
    • Create opportunities for student collaboration and group work, fostering a sense of community and teamwork.
  1. Performance and exhibition:
    • Assistant and help coordinate and organize music performances and art exhibitions, showcasing students’ talents and accomplishments.
    • Guide students in preparing for music and art presentations, helping them develop confidence and stage presence.
    • Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to plan and support school-wide events involving music and art.
  1. Communication and collaboration:
    • Maintain open and effective communication with parents, providing updates on students’ progress and upcoming music and art activities.
    • Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to integrate music and art into interdisciplinary projects and events.
    • Attend faculty meetings and actively contribute to the school’s music and art programs.
  1. Supplies and resources:
    • Manage and maintain music and art supplies, ensuring their availability and proper use in the classroom.
    • Recommend and request additional resources and materials to enhance the music and art programs.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong classroom management skills, creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Music, Art, Education, or a related field (preferred, but not required).
  • Relevant experience in teaching music and art to early learning and elementary students (preferred).
